Breechcloth - Long rectangular piece of hide or cloth tucked over a belt, so that the flaps fell down in front and behind. They were usually worn with leggings. They did not wear a shirt or a headdress, but rather decorated their bodies with tribal tattoos.
Women's Clothing:
Wraparound skirts and Poncho-style blouses - These were made out of woven fiber or deerskin, decorated with tribal patterns.
Male and Female Clothing:
Moccasins - These were the shoe choice of most Native American men and women, usually made of beaver and other small rodents' furs.
Shelters
The Cherokee lived in mud and clay houses. The houses kept the home as warm as a log cabin. Many villages included palisades, which are reinforced walls for protection.
Food
The women harvested corn, beans, squash, and sunflowers. They also gathered berries, nuts and fruit.
The men hunted for deer, wild turkeys, and small game and fished in the rivers.
